Yarn Sourcing from China
Use this page to organise a product brief before supplier questions, samples, inspection or freight coordination are considered. YunLink does not list stock or promise supplier availability; the workable scope is confirmed for each request.

What this category covers
Start with the product details a supplier can actually review.
Wool, cotton, blended and specialty yarns for knitwear, trims and textile product development.
The first useful step is not choosing a supplier from a list. It is making the product, intended use, target quantity, destination and required support specific enough for a responsible review.
Who this is for
A practical starting point for the right buying team.
Knitwear teams and textile product developers comparing yarns for a defined fabric or garment construction.
How the review works
Move from a reference to a decision-ready sourcing brief.
- 01
Put yarn counts on a consistent measurement basis before comparing suppliers.
- 02
Assess sample cones and knitted or woven trials against the intended construction.
- 03
Record the approved shade, count, composition, winding and packing details for repeat supply.
What you will have after review
A yarn-specific comparison brief and sample-trial checklist, separate from leather material requests.
Before you request
Three questions to clarify first
Will the yarn be knitted, woven, tufted or used for another construction?
What sample quantity, dye-lot, packing and repeat-supply requirements apply?
What we can help clarify
Turn a reference into a supplier-ready brief.
- Yarn count, composition, twist, colour and target quantity are defined before quotations.
- Knitting or weaving use, strength, hand-feel and dye-lot expectations are checked against the reference.
- Sample cones, winding, labelling and repeat-supply information are recorded before approval.
Useful starting inputs
Send what you already have.
- Fibre percentages, yarn count system, ply, twist and intended knitting or weaving use
- Reference cone or swatch, colour standard, target hand-feel and dye-lot expectations
- Trial-cone quantity, bulk quantity, winding format, destination and repeat-order needs
Common questions
Questions buyers usually clarify before requesting quotes.
Why should yarn count and count system be stated together?
Different yarn-count systems are not directly interchangeable. State the system, count and ply so suppliers do not quote materially different yarns.
Is a yarn cone enough to approve a garment fabric?
Not always. Knitting or weaving a trial helps assess coverage, hand-feel, stretch and appearance in the intended construction before bulk yarn approval.
